RIPEMD-128 Overview
RIPEMD-128 is a secure hash algorithm, designed by
by Dobbertin, Bosselaers, and Preneel. The algorithm takes a
message of arbitrary length and produces a 128-bit message digest and can
be considered a good alternative to MD5 algorithm.
RIPEMD-128 was described in H.Dobbertin, A.Bosselaers, and B.Preneel,
"RIPEMD-160: a strengthened version of RIPEMD", D.Gollmann, editor, Fast
Software Encryption, Third International Workshop (LNCS 1039), 71-82, Springer-Verlag,
1996. This article contains a description of both RIPEMD-160 and
RIPEMD-128.
